Context
The scale of humanitarian suffering today is staggering. According to the UN’s Global Humanitarian Overview 2026, over 240 million people around the world are in desperate need of assistance, with 87 million of them in life-or-death situations. Yet funding for aid has never been so scarce, forcing cuts to food rations, healthcare, and shelter for those who can least afford it.
From the famine-stricken streets of Sudan to the shattered communities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, crises are overlapping and escalating. Families are being torn apart by conflict, climate disasters, and economic collapse. Hunger, poverty, and oppression are not just statistics, they are the daily reality for millions who have lost everything.
Goals
Alleviate human struggles in the areas of health, education and poverty relief by supporting charitable projects around the world where the need is greatest.
Activities
At Myriad Canada, we refuse to turn away from this suffering. We know that even in the darkest hours, humanity’s greatest strength lies in its ability to lift others up. This conviction is shared by the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative Foundation, a nonprofit organization that elevates courageous grassroots humanitarians working on the frontlines of today’s most pressing crises, while inspiring others to realize their own humanitarian potential.
The Aurora Humanitarian Initiative’s mission is rooted in the Armenian history as the Initiative was founded on behalf of the survivors of the Armenian Genocide and in gratitude to their saviors and strives to transform this experience into a global movement. They support activities based on the concept of ‘Gratitude in Action’: the optimal to express gratitude for help received during time of crisis is by offering similar assistance to someone else.
This vision means that not only are urgent humanitarian challenges addressed, but a second chance is given to those who need it the most: “We believe that even in the darkest times, a brighter future is in the hands of those who are committed to giving others help and hope”.
Myriad Canada’s role is to carry out charitable projects across the globe in accordance with its charitable purposes. We control and monitor the use of funds and the progress of charitable activities to ensure that donations made to Myriad Canada have the greatest impact. As a member of the Myriad Alliance with offices in Canada, the US, Europe, Asia and Australia, Myriad Canada has a vast international network and extensive practical expertise.
