Context
Cyberviolence is now one of the major threats facing younger generations. From a very early age, children grow up in an environment where digital interactions are omnipresent: social media, instant messaging, and online gaming platforms. While this early exposure offers educational and social opportunities, it also opens the door to significant risks, including harassment, manipulation, social isolation, and loss of self-confidence.
In response to this reality, it is essential to provide children, parents, and educators with practical tools to prevent, understand, and respond to situations of cyberviolence. Our programme is aligned with this mission by offering playful, interactive, and age-appropriate tools designed to foster a healthy, respectful, and safe digital culture.
Objectives
- Prevent risks associated with digital usage from an early age through accessible and engaging resources.
- Support children, adolescents, and families in recognising and managing emotions triggered by distressing situations, both online and offline.
- Train teachers and parents so they can act as strong intermediaries in building a balanced relationship with digital technologies.
- Equip young people to respond to cyberviolence by providing concrete solutions and immediate support when they face difficult situations.
- Promote a responsible digital culture in which respect, empathy, and solidarity are central to all interactions.
What We Support
Donations made to the Stop Cyberviolence Fund will be used to support registered Canadian charitable organizations that contribute to the Fund’s mission.
Myriad Canada works with Daniel Jasmin, founder of STOP Cyberviolences, an organisation whose mission is to understand and support young people so they can benefit from the digital world without exposing themselves to harm.
Myriad Canada’s role is to carry out charitable activities across the globe in accordance with its charitable purposes. We control and monitor the use of funds and the progress of charitable activities to ensure that donations made to Myriad Canada have the greatest impact in accordance with donors’ expressed wishes. As a member of the Myriad Alliance with offices in Canada, the US, Europe, Asia and Australia, Myriad Canada has a vast international network and extensive practical expertise.
