This area is near the “Golden Triangle,” the world’s largest illicit drug-producing region. Refugee communities face trauma and addiction.

Myriad Canada is working with DARE Network (Drug and Alcohol Recovery and Education) on this project, a grassroots organization that provides culturally appropriate treatment and prevention education to build the capacity of the local people to address substance abuse issues and build the strength and resilience of communities. DARE Network is the only organisation that delivers life-changing drug addiction treatment and prevention education for refugees at the Thai-Myanmar border, and serves over 20,000 people annually.
